MAMMUT x NIGEL CABOURN Direttissima IN Hooded Jacket – Valley Blue: This heritage jacket was created in collaboration with the British cult designer Nigel Cabourn. Inspired by the 1969 first ascent of the Japanese Direttissima route on the Eiger, the design is based on an original puffer from the period. The outer shell is crafted from durable Pertex® Quantum fabric – a lighter, modern version of the original downproof fabric used for expedition clothing. The vintage look is complemented by an embroidered Mammut Garantie logo, two patch flap pockets and a fleece-lined side entry pocket.Â
Blending iconic fashion designer, Nigel Cabourn’s deep-rooted passion for vintage craftsmanship with Mammut’s alpine expertise in innovation and performance, this MAMMUT x NIGEL CABOURN Direttissima IN Hooded Jacket – Valley Blue features:
Box-wall construction, 850 power goose downÂ
Two-way Riri zip closure with snap Cobrax buttonsÂ
Patch flap pockets with snap buttonsÂ
Fleece lined side entry pocketÂ
Hood and hem with cord adjustment and embroidered eyeletsÂ
Together, Nigel Cabourn, a pioneer in story-led design, and Mammut created a unisex outerwear collection that blends heritage and function, vintage look and highquality fabrics — a collection that honours Michiko’s pioneering spirit. “This collaboration honours the grit, innovation, and international spirit of mountaineering. Michiko’s story, and the entire Japanese team’s achievement, is a powerful reminder of human accomplishment in the mountains.” – Nigel Cabourn
